Family History

What do you know about your ancestors? What would you like to know?

The Family History Group meets monthly on a Monday afternoon at 1.30.

We try to fill out the basic information gleaned from the Birth, Marriage and Death records and the eight censuses available on the internet with historical facts about employment, education, religious influences and so on. We choose a new subject on which to focus every month but there is always time for questions.

We are a mixed group with varying degrees of expertise so there is usually someone who can suggest how to break down those "brick walls".

Most members have access to the internet which means they can look at the various websites. For those without internet access, there are facilities at Northallerton Library and at the Archives on Malpas Road.
