Welcome to Bushey U3A
If you are new to Bushey and District U3A, welcome to our website. If you are an existing member, we aim to give you an easy source of information on our activities.
Are you retired or semi-retired? Do you want to keep your mind and body active and in doing so widen your social circle? If so then you've come to the right place!
The University of the Third Age is a national movement for people no longer in full-time work, to enable them to continue in the pleasure of learning and sharing knowledge.
Bushey U3A is a member of the Third Age Trust, and was founded in February 2004 as a Registered Charity (No.1109042). We are a self-help group, run entirely by our 670 members who organise and participate in over 80 Study Groups that incorporate a wide range of activities. A list of Study Groups is available by clicking this link. All Study Groups have a Leader drawn from the general membership that facilitates the chosen subject or activity. There are no entrance qualifications, no exams or certificates and no curriculum. Everyone helps everyone else. All members are encouraged to take part in the running of Bushey U3A in roles ranging from Committee membership through to Group leaders and general helpers. Consider what skills and experience you have gained from your life to date and could share with others! All offers of help are gratefully received.
There are regular meetings held on the third Tuesday of each month at Bushey Sports Club (formerly the Police Club), Aldenham Rd, Bushey. WD23 2TR.This gives members the opportunity to socialise with each other, hear news of the U3A and listen to a guest speaker. More details of events and outings organised by and for our members are on our Events page.
