Events

We meet every other Monday in the beautiful surroundings of the Williamson Art Gallery. Tea and coffee are served at 10.00am when there is time to look at the groups/events notice board or catch up on any gossip before our speaker at 10.45am.

At the start of each meeting is a raffle organised by the social committee. The proceeds of this go towards subsidising the Anniversary lunch. It also pays for the entertainment at our last meeting before the summer break in July and Christmas.

Lesley Thomas is an active member of The Richard Third Society.
In the Middle Ages the Borough of Southwark was home to thieves, cut-throats, murderers and a thriving prostitution business which goes back to the Romans. Lesley will tell us how the Bishops of Winchester, who set up residence in Southwark, took advantage of the hapless women who were working as prostitutes.
