The Local History Group re-established itself 12 months ago. The group felt very strongly that they wanted to concentrate on 'Local to Southport' and not Liverpool and beyond.
There is no overall leader of this group but rather a consensus of views at a planning meeting every now and again, as to what places we wish to visit.
These are advertised on the website and at the monthly U3A meeting and can be attended by any member of the U3A.
The aim is to have one event each month.
Some recent events are:
Visit to the old School House
Guided tour of Lord Street
Churchtown Walking Tour
Natural History talks at Ainsdale Reserve.
If this sounds like your thing then please conatct Eileen for further information
