Local History

We are large friendly group which meets on the last Tuesday of the month (except June, July, August and December). We have a varied programme of talks on all aspects of history from knowledgeable and expert speakers which are held in Gloucester Guildhall. We also arrange visits to places of historic interest on some of the months. If you would like to join us, please contact the Group Leaders.

We welcome members who would like to find out more about the fascinating history of Gloucester and surrounding area. Please let us know if you have any ideas for future talks or days out for the programme.

Charges made for meetings are to cover the cost of the speakers and hire of the hall.

Our meetings commence at 10.30 a.m.

Tue Apr 30th Joint visit with Horticulture to Ragley Hall.
Tue May 28th Our speaker for May is Ian Boskett and he will be presenting 'A walk down Memory Lane via Steam, Tram and Horse' The meeting is in the Gloucester, Guildhall at 10:30am. Car parking is available above the Guldhall with access to the Guildhall via the lift.
