The Scrabble Group meets on the second Thursday and the fourth Tuesday each month. Meetings start at 2pm and take place in the Test Match pub. We do not pay to use the room, instead members need to buy a drink during the afternoon.
Attendance varies, usually between four to seven players. Games are conducted in a pleasant atmosphere – sometimes jovial, sometimes a little more serious. A good vocabulary is helpful and it is particularly useful for members to learn the two-letter words - from aa to zo - which can help players to fit words in and make the most of scoring opportunities. It should be stressed that it is not necessary to know the meanings of any of the words played!
New members are always welcome to join the group.
