‘Genealogy – the art of immortalising the lives of ordinary people’
This group if for those interested in researching their Scottish family ancestry.
In all of us there is a curiosity to know our heritage – to know who we are and where we come from. Researching your family tree is a personal journey uncovering and exploring the lives of family that have gone before and also living your own legacy and passing it on.
In this group you will find help, support and encouragement in starting your tree or continuing with it if you have already begun.
As well as our regular monthly meetings, we regularly visit the Mitchell Library, Glasgow, for deeper research and once a year we go to Edinburgh to the Scotland's People Centre, the official government resource for family history research, and then we end the day by going out to dinner.
There are nine members in the Genealogy 2 Group and we are at capacity at the moment due to space. However, with Wi-Fi being installed at the library in the near future we could extend membership if new members have a laptop of their own.
