We meet on the first Monday of every month from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. at Tesco Community Room commencing on 5th February 2018.
At each meeting the main thread of that month’s subject is drawn from the Australian U3A astronomy course, these are summaries based upon various aspects of astrophysics, followed by coffee and group discussion on any questions or clarifications arising from the talk.
We like members to bring in snippets of the latest news from the world of astronomy and any new emerging unexplained discoveries so we can have an open discussion as well.
We have just returned from an excellent day visit to the National Space Centre in Leicester, which was also supported by members from the other science groups of ST1, ST2, History of Science and Our Earth.
Our team members hold no professional qualifications in astrophysics; we just have a deep fascination in the subject and welcome participation and the sharing of news and experiences.
