History
Group Leader: | Christine Elmes |
Location: | St Neots Museum |
Meets: | 2.00 - 3.00pm on the 4th Thursday of the month. |
Many aspects are covered at our meetings by Group Leader and Members. Talks have included the Russian Revolution, British Workhouses, Ruth Ellis, Edith Cavell, Enid Blyton, Lady Jane Grey and the Royals. We’ve looked at advances in Medicine, the Zulu Wars, Lawrence of Arabia and the Magna Carta; the story of Eyam in Derbyshire caught out by the Great Plague of 1665, and of Ann Izzard, our local witch. Because of Covid-19 our 2020 season was curtailed but the planned talks on Mexico and the past 100 years of Berlin are still in the pipeline, as is the past present and (hopefully) future of M&S. A talk and discussion on a Stately Home or Palace is followed by a coach trip to that venue. Members’ participation of talks is very much encouraged.
