WALKING

Walks take place once a fortnight on a Wednesday morning starting at 10.30am.

We walk about four or five miles and walks normally take place in County Durham.

A walking sheet is produced twice a year with the walks and directions to the start of the walk, printed on the sheets.

The members of the group choose a walk and they will lead the walk on the day. The walks are usually circular walks.

If the weather is wet at the start of the walk we would cancel the walk and try to do the walk at a later date.

At the end of the walk we visit a pub or cafe for a meal for a convivial end to the walk. Members who for some reason can no longer walk often join us for the lunch.

A small group continued to walk during lockdown, subject to the 'Rule of Six' Now we are back to normality.
