We meet to play scrabble, having a very relaxed attitude to our games. We tend to adopt a co-operative style of play, rather than a competitive one.

We normally manage to have two games per afternoon, choosing how to allocate each of us to a table in a remarkable variety of ways. Lots of fun to be had and lots of polite challenges to the appearance of some extraordinary words. It’s remarkable what the modern dictionaries contain.

We think that, as the years have gone by, we have all become a bit smarter in our tactics, as well as increasing our vocabulary.
