This is a cheerful and highly successful group, the undoubted popularity of which may be ascribed equally to the health-giving properties of gentle to moderate exercise in the open air and lunch afterwards in carefully selected country pubs.
WALKERS: A harder route than Strollers. 10 a.m. normally on the FOURTH Wednesday of the month. This starts and ends for lunch at a country pub.
The Walkers will meet at 10.00am Wednesday 27 October at ‘The Red Lion’, Vicarage Lane, Little Budworth. (GR SJ 598653, PC CW6 9BY.) Turn right off the A54 Chester to Winsford road at the Sandybrow traffic lights onto the A49 Northwich to Whitchurch Road, then take the first turning left SP Oulton Park and Little Budworth. The pub is on the right in Little Budworth opposite the church. The route has roads, paths and fields with a few stiles, waterproof footwear is advised. Check the weather reports for clothing and always carry a face mask JIC.
The Walkers will meet at 10.00am Wednesday 24 November at ‘The Hartford Hall Hotel’, 81, School Lane, Hartford, Northwich. (GR SJ 643716, PC CW8 1PW.) Turn left off the A556 Northwich by pass approx 3 miles after the Sandiway lights/Blakemere Craft Centre at traffic lights SP Hartford. The hotel is on the right 150yds down School Lane. Please park on the lower car park. The route is mostly on the River Weaver and its towpath. Roads, paths and fields with only one short gradient, no stiles and some pleasant views.
Remember to chose clothing and footwear to suit the weather and I recommend you always carry a mask in case any of the pubs insist.
