This is a cheerful and highly successful group, the undoubted popularity of which may be ascribed equally to the health-giving properties of gentle to moderate exercise in the open air and lunch afterwards in carefully selected country pubs.
WALKERS: A harder route than Strollers. 10 a.m. normally on the FOURTH Wednesday of the month. This starts and ends for lunch at a country pub
The Walkers will meet at 10.00 am Wednesday 25 September at ‘The Ring O’Bells’, Daresbury. (GR SJ 579829, PC WA4 4AJ.) Leave the M56 at junction 11 onto the A56 SP Warrington. In approx. 1 mile turn right off the A56 onto the B5356 SP Daresbury and Hatton. The pub is immediately on right before the church. Towpath, footpaths and fields and includes the entrance to the ‘Preston Brook Tunnel’. This is where the ‘Bridgewater Canal’ ends and the ‘Trent and Mersey’ begins. The towpath is part of the ‘Cheshire Ring Canal Walk’.
