Welcome to Horsham U3A West Sussex
The Horsham U3A was formed in 1994 and the objectives contained in the Constitution are quoted as being:
(i) The advancement of education, and in particular the education of older people and those who are retired from full time work by all means, including associated activities conducive to learning and personal development.
(ii) The provision of facilities for leisure time and recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the above persons in the interests of their social welfare.
What does it offer?
•The opportunity to pursue learning for sheer enjoyment and for its own sake
•Shared learning experiences in a wide range of interest groups
There are about 80 groups on some 50 subjects, from Art Appreciation to Writing for Pleasure, with about 850 members. Use the Group link above for a full list.
In addition to the regular activity meetings, general meetings are usually held on the third Tuesday of alternate months from January to September. In November we have an Open Day for members and visitors. All of these are held at the Holbrook Club, North Heath Lane on bus routes 51, 61 and 200.
To join a group you must be a member of Horsham U3A; if you would like to join Horsham U3A, either send an email to the Membership Secretary from the Contact Page or click on 'Membership Application Form' to the right of this text to download and print a form. Some special interest groups make a small charge, especially if they are hiring accommodation or using our computers.
Have you completed a Gift Aid Declaration? The Government has introduced rules making it easier to give to Charities and for them to reclaim tax on donations. The only condition is that the donor must be a UK tax payer. This makes a valuable contribution to our funds. If you have not completed the necessary form and are eligible, please either let the Treasurer know and you will be sent one, or print off the form using the link on this page.
