This group was formed over ten years ago, for both beginners and those with some knowledge of the language and who wish to improve their skills. The group studies Latin grammar, vocabulary, and idioms, touching on geography history, culture etc. By reference to Latin text. We read a passage in the language translating into English sentence by sentence. Discussion sometimes arises about the connection of Latin words to corresponding ones in modern languages such as English, French, Italian, Spanish etc.
