This group is for absolute beginners up to those who have attained some proficiency with their playing. Our normal meeting format includes a discussion regarding playing techniques, demonstrations plus reviewing how guitars are built, repaired and set up. We encourage each other to practice and learn with an opportunity to demonstrate what progress has been made since the last meeting.
I do not conduct weekly one-to-one lessons although this is certainly an approach to speed up the learning curve for playing the guitar effectively. I do, however, have quite a stock of exercises and guides available to support learning to play. I can signpost learners to explore certain techniques and lessons with YouTube being an excellent platform. During the month I can also provide a soundboard and give guidance where appropriate.
