Events

Members' monthly meetings cost a nominal £2 to attend (which includes refreshments) and a current membership card must be shown. (An essential carer, assisting a member, may attend free of charge). Non members are welcome to attend up to two meetings before joining HHD u3a.

Coach Trips are back and will be listed below. Please email The Coach Trips team by clicking on the blue text if you would like to book a trip or have any suggestions of where you would like to go.
We envisage organising trips bi-monthly - April, June, August and October (but this may be subject to change). All members will be informed by email or post in advance of trips including details, cost and booking arrangements.

Members can also attend the popular annual Summer School. The next Summer School will again be held at the University of Chichester from Monday 2nd – Thursday 5th September 2024

The University of York will play host to u3a’s first ever festival in July – a chance for members from across the UK to gather and share the joy of the movement (click on link for further information).

The Third Age Trust (TAT) is the u3a national office which runs countrywide study days and events including Online Zoom talks. The u3a (TAT) button above goes directly to their website.

Fri Apr 26th Monthly Meeting and AGM - Adastra Hall, Hassocks
Paul Tracey will be delivering his talk on "100 Seaside Piers" focussing on the piers of the south coast. He will explain their history and also talk about his paintings.
Doors open at 1.30pm for a start at 2pm.
There will be no charge for this meeting as the agenda includes the AGM.
Fri May 24th Monthly Meeting - Adastra Hall, Hassocks
Our very own Richard Ware will be presenting The Turners of Oldland about a Keymer family who owned Oldland House from 1544 to 1863.
Doors open at 1.30pm for a start at 2pm.

Thu Apr 18th Coach Trip - Arundel Tulip Festival
The Arundel Tulip Festival is regarded as one of the top tulip displays in Europe.
We will arrive mid-morning at the castle, then have plenty of free time to enjoy not only the beautiful gardens, but also the many independent shops and tempting eateries in Arundel. You might also like to visit the 14th century St Nicholas Church and the magnificent neo-Gothic Catholic Cathedral, or pop into the local museum.

Pick up points will be Ditchling (9.30am), Hassocks and Hurstpierpoint.
We will leave Arundel at 3pm.
Cost £31 (Includes coach, castle gardens entry, driver gratuity).
Thu May 23rd Coach Trip - Chartwell
A chance to enjoy Winston Churchill's beloved home and gardens.
Pick up points will be Ditchling, Hassocks and Hurstpierpoint.
We will leave Chartwell at 3.30pm.
Cost £36 (or £18 for National Trust members).
(Includes coach, entry to house, garden and studio).
