The Opera Appreciation Group still flourishes and we manage to see a DVD or recording of a whole opera most months. We are currently only meeting online via Zoom so there is no limit to the number of people that can watch.
During the last year we have watched different operas every month, some well known and some not so well known. We are gradually working through a list of the group member's favourite performances. We decided to watch the whole opera at each meeting and most performances are over 2 or even 3 hours long. We normally have a short break for tea in the middle (supply your own!).
However as a study group, I am assured that we are all becoming more knowledgeable with each production and certainly living up to out title of “Appreciating Opera".
