There is a lifetime of learning in wine appreciation.

We normally meet once a month and taste between 5 and 7 wines at a session. The tastings are normally themed, e.g. wine from a particular country or region, particular grape varieties or other characteristics such as rose or sparkling.

The wines for a particular session are chosen by a member of the group, who usually provides some notes or background to them. We each get to lead a session about once during the year. We also normally have one 'blind' tasting in November when we try some of the wines we have previously tried during the year and try to remember what they were! For the festive season we have a special meeting where we each bring a favourite or special wine and/or some food.

Though our group is full we are certain there must be other people in Radlett u3a who are interested in wine so if you would like to start a second group we would be more than happy to give you some suggestions and help you get started.

Some of the bottles we have tasted!
