Attention all Family Historians!
Because our usual meeting days (1st Monday in the Month) are bank holidays in both April and May, we have arranged to meet , FOR THESE TWO MONTHS ONLY, on the first Wednesday.
Wednesday April 3rd. and Wednesday May 1st
Now Meeting back at Carleton Memorial Hall
This group is for anyone with an interest in family history from beginner up to more experienced. We aim to help beginners in workshops held at most meetings. Members are invited to bring laptops/tablets to meetings with advice given by some of our experienced members.
Visits are arranged to facilities such as Lancashire Archives in Preston and the Family History Centre of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) (Mormon) in Chorley to assist in member’s research. We also invite external speakers to give us relevant talks on their areas of expertise. Ideas from members for new topics are always very welcome.
We do NOT do research for group members but we can help by giving advice on how to progress. We aim to update members with new resources.
We encourage members to give short talks on their own work, from a few minutes to longer presentations. We also like to study the social environment our ancestors experienced and again members are encouraged to contribute from knowledge of their own family history.
