Wine appreciation

This is a most interesting and enjoyable group. You do not have to know anything about wine, as the whole point of this group is to explore and educate ourselves about the types and varieties of wine.

We work in pairs, and we take it in turns to research a grape variety.
The resulting research and the selected wines are then presented to the rest of the group, with a couple of small samples of food pairings that complement the wine.
We have a maximum limit to the cost of the wines, and the receipts are divided between all those attending and sampling the wines.

We are a very happy group who have no pretentions.
There are also special nights where we have 'blind' tastings and fun events.

We meet in various members' homes, and where possible we try to car share or arrange lift to the meetings.

If this appeals to you, we would make you very welcome.
