2:00pm At this Monthly Meeting we will be welcoming Alan Saunders who will talk to us about The Queen’s Bodyguard of the Yeoman of the Guard

This is a ceremonial Guard that attends HM Queen on state occasions. Alan Saunders was a former member of the Queen's Bodyguard of the Yeoman of the Guard and served in the Bodyguard from 2002 until March 2018.

Alan Saunders fascinating talk comprises

  • Background of the Bodyguard and the Yeoman Warders
  • Formation of the Bodyguard following the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485
  • Membership of the Bodyguard
  • Duties of the Yeoman of the Guard
  • Video footage of a Royal Garden Party and the Royal Mundy Service

Please join us at 2pm at Bedhampton Community Centre. You will not be disappointed.

Tue Nov 23rdOutingDay Trip to Winchester Christmas Market on Tuesday November the 23rd

This outing is will be on a car sharing basis as the cost of hiring a coach is prohibitive. The plan is to arrive at the St.Catherine's Car Park which is in East Winchester at 11.00am. There are toilets there and it has a Park and Ride facility which takes you into the city centre. The cost is £3.50 for the day and this includes the bus ticket from the car park and back. We would be free to explore Winchester, shop and sightsee. Then in the afternoon to meet for tea and cake at about 3.00pm. The venue for this will be announced later. It is suggested that those sharing a car should have an up to date negative lateral flow test . Please indicate if you are willing to car share or if you need transport.

A buffet lunch and entertainment will be provided. Tickets are £10.00 and must be purchased in advance as the committee need to know how many are coming. An announcement on ticket availability to follow.
