Social History two
Group Coordinator Marion Soper
The social history group 2 meets on the 4th Monday of every month. Each member takes a turn to give a talk, on a subject of their own choice, which will have relevance to social history across the ages. Some examples of recent talks are, a talk on Victorian Factory Workers, the History of District Nursing, and the History of the Sewing machine.
The group meet at the home of whoever is giving the talk. Coffee and biscuits are served provided by the speaker. The group also organise an outing once a year, last year we visited the Suffolk Punch Trust at Hollesley. A January meal out is also organised, last year held at The Bell Kersey.
The group is relaxed and easy going and welcoming to new members. We currently have two vacancies so if you would like to join us or find out more please contact me via the Blue Bird and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
