Welcome to Windsor & District U3A
Welcome to our U3A; formed in 2008, we are a growing and friendly branch of the national organisation.
The University of the Third Age
The U3A is an educational co-operative where all involved take part in the process of educating and being educated through the sharing with other members of our skills and knowledge. Members are normally retired or semi-retired from paid employment and wish to use some of their leisure time to acquire new skills and help others do the same. There are over 1,040 U3As and more than 425,000 members within the UK - to find out more about the history and ethos of the U3A the Third Age Trust website can be accessed using the link on the right.
Windsor and District U3A
Our U3A has over 600 members, from a wide area around Windsor, including Slough, Eton, Iver and Ascot - essentially as far as one wishes to travel. Our main activities centre on the subject groups. Some information about those which are currently running can be found on the Groups page. We have regular monthly general meetings on the second Wednesday of each month featuring a guest speaker - prospective members are very welcome. Do see the Events page for details of future meetings.
How to Join
The annual membership fee is £14 per person from 1st January (£8 if joining after 30th June) - which entitles attendance to as many Group activities as you wish (space permitting - see Groups page).
If you would like more information, visit our Contact Us page for ways to get in touch or you can ring our Membership Secretary on 01753 831422 - either way; we look forward to hearing from you.
Alternatively, just come to one of our regular Monthly meetings; these are held on the Second Wednesday of any month, at 14:00 in Gardeners' Hall, 213 St Leonards Road, Windsor, SL4 3DR.
