Local History
Convenor: Please contact Groups Coordinator
Our group continues to thrive and enjoy talks presented to us by its own members, who remind us that, in spite of its apparently rural and agricultural appearance today, our county has had a significant and varied history.
Among other things we have learned about the origins of the Lincoln Hospital (originally the Bromhead), the Viking settlements around Torksey, the Witches of Belvoir, the effects of the Cousins War (Wars of the Roses) in Lincolnshire, and the arrival of the White Canons to Tupholme in the Witham Valley - and there is more to come!
A pleasant and sociable way to spend a Wednesday afternoon. Thank you to all who contribute.
