Group leader Bernice Drama Group Enquiry (please click to contact)

The drama group was founded in 2016. My aim as the leader of the group was to teach the members: Stagecraft; How to learn lines from a play; How to support the actors, by prompting; front of house; refreshments; publicity etc.

Our first performance was a one-act comedy performed for the public. We were supported by the u3a Ukulele band. We have gone on from strength to strength performing twice a year (until ‘Lockdown’) for the public.

We have tried one act plays; murder mysteries; sketch shows and for our latest event via Zoom, a 6-part monologue show.

We have appeared at The Lowry little theatre in a sketch show, on the west end stage and luncheon clubs. When it was possible, we regularly visited local amateur dramatic productions.

Most of all we have enormous fun and continue to meet twice a month, via zoom, but hope to meet outdoors soon.
We, have christened ourselves ‘The mad hatters’, so if you want to join us, please leave a message.
