Waltham Forest

History

We use DVDs, tapes, videos, recordings and books to feed our delight in looking at English history. Not only from a political angle but also at the social and economic aspects of the period including interesting individuals or important inventions. The pattern we follow is usually "viewing followed by discussion". But sometimes a member will research a personal enthusiasm within whatever era we're looking at and tell us all about it.

We're now on our second iteration of England from William the Conqueror through to the present day. Just about to embark on the Victorian era again. What we study is agreed by group members and it was they who voted to 'start again', so as to remind themselves of all the interesting stuff they'd covered and now half-forgotten!
