Needlecraft

We are a small group who enjoy working together to make quilts. Our members decide on a design for a quilt and then each member creates a set number of squares which are then sewn together. Once completed the quilt is donated to a local charity for it to raffle to raise funds.
Last summer we made the quilt shown on the right of this page which was to be donated to the Rowans Hospice for them to raffle at their August Fundraising Day. Other items we have made have been for our own use or for family gifts.
Our current project is to make individual incubator/cot quilts for a charity which takes them to neo-natal intensive care wards. They cover the incubator and when the baby is finally able to go home, they can take the quilt with them.
The group meets on the first Monday of the month from 2pm to 4pm in Bere Grove Nursing Home, Gales Rise, Horndean, PO8 0WU with each member contributing to the cost of hire.
