Group Leader: Geoff Pearce
We meet fortnightly on a Wednesday morning between 10-12am at the Rayleigh Leisure Centre (behind Asda). We are a friendly group who play for fun. It’s good exercise and a chance to socialise too. Ideally you should know the rules of badminton and be familiar with the basics of how to play. We have 13 members at present and space for 1 or 2 more. No waiting list.

The Sunday Walking Group meets on the last Sunday at 10.30 for local walks of 3-5 miles lasting 1 1/2hrs – 2hrs. We usually find time for liquid refreshment & further conversation afterwards!
Group members are very supportive and are gradually sharing the responsibility of finding & leading a walk.
We do try to keep stiles & other hazards to a minimum but we're a friendly bunch & encourage & assist each other with our individual problems. Ages range from early 60s - mid 80s.
Walking shoes or boots are required and most of us also find a walking pole is beneficial.
None of us are professional walk leaders - or first aid experts.
The Group currently has vacancies. If you are interested and prepared to organise a walk at some time, then please email the Group Co-Ordinator on the Contact page.
