St. Johns Local History Group

St. John's Local History Group Waterloo

Meets at 2:00pm(doors open 1:45pm) on the first Tuesday of each month at St. John's Parish Centre, adjacent to St. John's CE Primary School, Denmark Street, Waterloo, L22 4RG. A long established local history group, not U3A as such but open to members of the U3A. Just go along.

Their talks are open to all but there is a charge of £2.00 to cover costs and refreshments.

The group began in 2001, growing out of a highly successful project to reunite pupils who were evacuated from Waterloo schools to South Wales in the spring of 1941. Those pupils formed the "Outpost '41 Club", which has grown into the local history group.

Their contact is Paul Baker (Treasurer) 0151 474 2503
Chair: Colin Jackson
Secretary: Barbara Lee
