Group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 2pm to 3.45pm
Venue KCC Room 5
Overview
At our meetings the emphasis is on enjoying a wide variety of jazz – old and new, and of all styles – mostly on CD. And there is plenty of opportunity for discussion and questions – and a laugh – between tracks.
For some of us jazz is a lifelong interest, for others the group is a chance to explore a new interest. Usually, there is a presentation or theme. Presentations typically last 30 to 40 minutes, leaving time for CDs that members bring. Themed sessions have examples of the chosen theme throughout the meeting. You can get an idea of these from Features 2023 in the Links section. The programme below has details 2024.
Copies of our Jazz Appreciation Journal, with musical links, are available to u3a members on request. This was published monthly when we could not meet during lock-down.
