Local History
This group has only been running since January 2018 but has become very popular with members. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Findochty Town Hall from 2:00 to 4:00pm (unless we have arranged a field trip).
This is very much a member led group with members deciding on subjects to be researched and discussed. Members also submit suggestions for site visits which I will organise, places previously visited include:
Pluscarden Abbey, Elgin Museum, Burghead Fort and Birnie Kirk, Garmouth, and a visit to Peterhead Prison Museum.
At our first meeting this year on 18th October we had a speaker, Michael Hilton, who gave us a talk about WW1 Highlanders.
