Science and engineering affects everyone
So our group is for everyone whether you have been a scientist or engineer during your career or just have an interest and want to learn more.
The meetings are every 2nd Wednesday of the month at 2pm.
We are not an academic society and you will not feel out of your depth at our meetings.
What you get is a chance to discuss a wide range of science and technological subjects in friendly social surroundings, usually around someone’s kitchen table.
Sometimes we have a guest speaker or visit a place of interest, usually one of us gives a short presentations on a subject that interests us which leads on to a discussion. Other times we discuss subjects that members have put on the table.
The meetings generally last about two hours with light refreshments (small charge)
We cover a wide range of subjects and their impact on people's lives, all the issues of the day including the environment, health and medicine, the latest technology in the home and in industry.
Here are some titles of recent meetings:
• Military Technology
• Gene editing
• Forensic Science

Meetings are on 2nd Wednesday of each month, 2-4pm, usually at a member's house in St Ives.
