Italian (intermediate)
Intermediate Italian sessions
This group is designed for members with some knowledge of the language. The group explores grammar and conversation, as well as Italian culture and history. The Group aims to improve Italian conversational, listening and reading skills and overall language comprehension. It uses a combination of textbooks, including "Italia dal Vivo" and CDs to support its sessions.
Students really enjoy this course and a number of them have shared their views in their own words.
"We are a group of Italian language lovers who enjoy fortnightly meetings, studying and sharing our news in Italian with our ever-patient and understanding teacher Eleonora. She is as keen as we are to improve our fluency and offers situations in which we can practise our new-found skills. The sessions are relaxing, fun and stimulating, so we come to the end of them after a break for real Italian coffee/tea and lovely biscuits feeling refreshed and encouraged that we are making progress. Some of us have Italian families or spend our holidays in Italy, but whatever the link we all feel the effort of learning such a beautiful language is one that is justified by being able to say "Che bello!". Eleanora offers both beginner and intermediate classes, so why not come and join us."
Members that have some knowledge of the language are welcome.
For new members to the u3a there are new intakes on both the beginners and intermediate courses each September.
If you are interested in this group contact details are available in the Prospectus and Groups List, both of which can be found on the Members Only page, or can be obtained from the Groups Co-ordinator via the Contact page.
The group meets in Buckhurst Hill, Wednesday pm, twice a month.
