Film Club

Due to the changes to the government advice and restrictions Film Club will not be able to resume as planned.

The Film Club meets once a month on Friday afternoons to view films from around the world. All are chosen for their merit and the subject matter varies widely. Many have not been shown in local cinemas and some are foreign language films with English sub titles.

film club (Currently due to Covid 19 restrictions this paragraph is not applicable Those members who have attended the morning U3A meeting (held in the same hall), usually bring a sandwich lunch and we enjoy a cup of tea or coffee together. Others may arrive just before the film start time which is 1pm.)

There is a small charge per person per attendance which helps cover the cost of DVDs, drinks and the film licence which has to be renewed each year.

The aim is to ensure those who have watched a film have an enjoyable cinema experience and take away lasting memories. Discussion is encouraged after each viewing.

We are fortunate to have the use of excellent technical equipment which ensures a quality experience and a large screen.

Members' film recommendations are welcome.

Synopses for forthcomming films can be found from the the link on the right of the page.
