Family History

FAMILY HISTORY GROUP

Family history is very absorbing. It can't be finished in a week because one interesting fact about your family will lead on to another… and another… and another! There are so many avenues open for research, especially if you are computer literate. You have to pay to use some websites (some of which are free in Norfolk libraries), but some are free to all users.

Some members find that the local library is very useful place to visit, as you can use its computers for your research. We all learn as we go, helping each other just like any other interest or work group.
We start our investigation with our own memories and our family relations. We look at where they came from and what they did for a living, learning about their family and all the uncles, aunts, and cousins. We ask our family what they know. It might be entirely different from what we know, and they may provide clues for the next stage of our investigation.

We meet on the second Monday of each month, at a member’s home from 10:00am to 11:30am.

Why not come and join us?
