The meetings take place midweek once or twice a month in Thurlestone, Salcombe or Kingsbridge at 3.00pm for about an hour and a half. We also arrange outdoor observing sessions, although less frequently now.
As a record for current members and an illustration of what we do for prospective members, a list of our meetings from early 2015 can be viewed by clicking the Meetings link on the right. Reports on a few are also there.
At our 15th September 2015 meeting Peter gave an excellent talk on Pluto as per the recent flyby by the New Horizons probe, and also gave us the date of the expected UK eclipse of the Moon (28th September 2015 at approx. 3am, - images now here on right).

Because we meet in private houses space is limited but currently is available and the search for new members goes on!
New members will be very welcome, whether you already have experience of astronomy or you just want to know a bit more about what’s 'out there'! It will be especially helpful if prospective new members can contribute to the planning meetings.
Anyone interested in joining the group and, particularly (when available), the observing sessions should e-mail John with their email and telephone contact details. Contact John on 560951 or click Astronomy to email.
