Whether you have lived here all your life or are a relative newcomer, we hope you will want to be part of our lively and friendly group, which aims to explore and discover all aspects of the history of Kingsbridge and the surrounding area. We start each session with refreshments, then we usually have a talk lasting about an hour on topics chosen by members. Click on the link to our Archive on the right to find out what we have already done and some of what we have discovered.
The group meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, usually in the morning at 10.00 for 10.30am at the Dodbrooke Church Hall. There is a small charge of £2 per person for each meeting, to cover the cost of hiring the hall and for tea/coffee & biscuits.
A team of six coordinates the group but looks to support from members on topics of interest and help with research. There will be plenty of opportunity to work with others or individually and add to our store of local knowledge – and our archive. We also have an excellent resources room at our disposal in the museum, so we hope to entice some of you to join us there.
