Spanish Intermediate 1
Spanish Intermediate Level Friday Group
Would you like to improve your level of Spanish?
A small group of us meet at Dodington Parish Hall for two hours on Friday mornings from 10am till noon.
The Spring Term will start on Friday 3rd January 2023.
New members with a knowledge of Spanish beyond beginners’ level are welcome to join us to improve their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills of the Spanish language, as well as learn about Spanish culture through texts and videos.
Please contact group leader Judith Chapman via the Message button on the right.
“Bienvenidos”.
As we use computer technology and the internet, you need to have access to this and be able to print off your own copies of any material we are studying. Our group follows the U3A philosophy of co-operative learning. There is no formal teaching and each and every one of us is both a pupil and a teacher on a learning spiral together.
Our main text book is BBC World Spanish Suenos Book 2 (Intermediate level). We have already covered all the basic level grammar and vocabulary used in Book 1 (Beginners Level). We also use material from the internet and other sources. There is an emphasis on Spanish culture, history and learning about places in Spain by reading interesting articles in Spanish.
Those wishing to join our group need to have achieved a level of Spanish which is good enough in order to be able to join in our activities and not feel left out, but the main requirement is enthusiasm for the Spanish language and culture. Members are encouraged to do some preparation for the sessions in advance (“Homework”) as the more you put in, the more you get out and the faster your Spanish will progress! It is surprising how much time and effort learning a language takes, and so do be prepared to set aside a regular slot for this. We enjoy listening to short presentations by other group members.
We are a friendly group, and we like to make our meetings fun while attempting to chat in Spanish.
There will be a fee to pay in advance to the group leader for use of the hall.
If you like the sound of this group, then use the blue message icon on the right to contact Judith Chapman who facilitates the group’s learning objectives and organises the meetings.
