North Walsham

A very warm welcome to North Walsham U3A

The University of the Third Age (U3A) is a national self-help organisation for older people no longer in full time employment. We provide educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment. There are now over 1000 U3A branches in the UK.

Although each local U3A operates in its own way, all branches use the knowledge, skills and experience of their own members to set up and run special interest groups according to the wishes of members. North Walsham Branch U3A has a number of groups covering a wide range of interests. Members are welcome to join however many groups they like, and those with particular interests, experience or knowledge may decide to set up and lead new groups. No one needs a qualification to lead a group, though some knowledge of the subject is obviously required to get things going. To learn more about our groups, press the 'Groups' button above.

We hold a general meeting for all members, usually with a Guest Speaker, on the first Friday of each month in the Roman Catholic Church Hall, North Walsham NR28 9JP at 2.30 pm. (Map) Limited parking available. Our aim is provide a varied, informative, entertaining and intellectually satisfying programme for our members. Visitors are also welcome for a small charge (£2). These meetings also provide Group Leaders with an opportunity to make announcements and we round off the afternoon by getting together over tea and biscuits - we pride ourselves on being a very friendly and welcoming U3A. Our programme for the current year can be seen by using the 'Events' button above.

Annual membership costs £15 per year. If you would like a membership application form please contact the Membership Secretary using the 'Contact' button at the top of this page.

Please note: To participate in any of our special interest groups, you must be a paid up member of North Walsham U3A
