New Photography Competition 2019/2020

As part of the Castles SLP we are running our first Wales Region Photography
competition, with the theme of ‘Castles in Wales’.
The competition is open to any U3A member of a U3A in Wales. U3As must register if any of
their members would like to enter. The first ‘heat’ of the competition takes place at local U3A
level. Details of how to register and participate in the competition are supposed to be available elsewhere on the Wales website (and when I can find it I will put a link to it).

Wales Short Story Competition

Details of this year's annual Short Story Competition have been announced. Entries must be a maximum of 1500 words and have to be received between 1st July and 31st August 2019.

New Wales Trustee

Hilary Jones is retiring as Wales Trustee (click on TRUSTEE on the main menu above to see Hilary's last edition of her 'Trustee Tips') and Chris Winner from Flintshire U3A is taking over from her. She is, at present, the chairman of Flintshire U3A and of the North Wales Network. and has tremendous knowledge and expertise in ITC and education amongst other talents. Here is a message from her:

I am fully aware that Hilary will be a very hard act to follow but I will do my best to follow in her footsteps to ensure our U3A members in Wales are kept up to date with everything coming from the NEC and more importantly keep the NEC aware of all the wonderful things that happen in our U3As in Wales, (as well of course any concerns that may arise).

I know many of you, I look forward to meeting those I don't know and working with with you all in the future.
