Wine Appreciation
We have recently returned to holding our sessions in members’ homes.
The most recent session explored six European wines from a well-known Bicester supermarket (A***), one white, two roses and three reds. Surprisingly based on past experience, the white came out as the top choice.
The way it works is each member in rotation chooses 6 wines of their own choice, there can be a theme but not necessarily so, we then all taste a small sample and discuss the colour, nose and taste and make a guess as to what it is and how much it costs. After three tastings we usually stop for a snack and a walk about stretch our legs, and chat! At the end of the evening, we all contribute to the hosts costs.
None of us is expert but we all like wine and use this group to discover more wines that we like.
We are currently fully subscribed but if there is enough interest from other U3A members we can look to setting up a new Wine Appreciation 2 group.
Anyone interested should contact me or the Group Co-Ordinator
