Meet at The Barnes Room in St. Gabriels' Church Hall, SR4 7TF |
During the period while we were Using ZOOM because we are unable to meet together, our numbers grew.
Encouragement to Take Pictures and later discussing them in a Review Session.
Basically we put together a list of subjects for up to the Year ahead
and decide when they should be reviewed.
The aim is to take pictures for the review session
which are related to the Subject
and select the best or most appropriate 3 for review.
This provides a chance for you to show your creativity.
In 2018, especially for the early subjects photographers can raid their archives.
Longer term, the subjects should be known far enough in advance to be able to take new photos.
It is what you choose to make of the subject.
The Group does not meet in August or December each Year.
We hope you will talk for about a minute on each photo on what you like about it and why you chose it for review.
Members of the Group may comment or ask Questions about your Photos.
In the review sessions the emphasis should be on constructive comments or
suggestions which might have improved the photo.
We vote of which of your photos we like best.
For ease of display, Photos could be taken with any digital camera including smart phones or tablet.
Photos can be submitted by email if you are unable to attend the review session
- this should not preclude anyone from contributing to the group.
Similarly if our U3A members just like seeing what the Photographers make of the subject then
they would be welcome to come along to the review sessions and can join in with comments.
We have a break for refreshments of tea or coffee and we pay £2 to cover the cost of the room.

Tue May 28th | The Photography group meets on the 4th Tuesday Afternoon of the month Starting at 2:00 p.m. until 4 p.m. New Location is The Barnes Room at St Gabriel's Church Hall, St. Gabriel's Avenue SR4 7TF. At this location, CUPS can be borrowed from the Kitchen but they MUST be washed up. We must also leave the room tidy. Pre pandemic the larger groups generated a surplus which supported the smaller groups breaking even each year, however this is no longer the case, therefore The Executive Committee has reached the difficult decision to raise all door fees to £2 from 1st January 2022. This will be kept under review at every Executive Committee Meeting. If you wish to attend the next Committee Meeting as an observer please contact Christa Lloyd, Business Secretary, to arrange this. |
