The original beginners’ group took a lengthy break over the summer, with some finding opportunities to try out the language with Austrians and German tourists at European campsites (though so many speak English that it’s tempting not to make the effort!).
Now meeting on Mondays, roughly fortnightly, we decided to work from a course this year. Huw found copies of BBC Talk German at a very reasonable price on the Internet for us, so we’re all set to cover many practical tourist-type topics, starting again from basics with some newcomers swelling our ranks to the maximum our hosts can accommodate.
