The Group Leader is Stuart Miller
There are three Spanish groups. The Improvers Group meets at Elmwood Avenue United Reformed Church, 15 Elmwood Avenue, Warrington WA1 3TX. The Intermediate Group and the Conversation Group meet at Padgate Community Centre, Station Road South, Padgate, Warrington WA2 0QS. There is no longer a group for Beginners in the language.
Group 1 (Improvers)
Please do not attempt to join this group without first contacting the Group Leader as there are currently no vacancies in the group.
This is a group for those with a limited knowledge of the language. It is led by Fred Airey, a former teacher of Modem Languages. This class meets on alternate Tuesdays at 2pm.
Group 2 (Intermediate Level)
This group meets on alternate Fridays at 2pm and operates under the guidance and expertise of Ron Phillips, a former Spanish teacher. This group tends to concentrate on extracts from news media and often strays into areas of Spanish culture and history, of both of which Ron has extensive knowledge.
Group 3 (Spanish Conversation)
This group meets on alternate Fridays at 10am and concentrates on listening, conversation and reading/translation using resources provided by the Group Leader.
New members are always welcome to any of the three groups which currently have vacancies, but please contact the Group Leader in advance. U3A members may attend as many or as few classes as they wish.
