Halstead & District

History 1

Group Co-ordinator: Val Bruce

Meetings take place on the last Monday of the Month commencing at 2.00 p.m.

Venue: We meet at various Members Homes as advised at the previous month's meeting.

There are currently 10 Members on my list, but as it unusual for everyone to attend all the meetings, we could probably accommodate one more person. Over a period of years we have researched many aspects of life in 19th Century Britain, from Social conditions and changes during the Industrial Revolution, to the lives of significant personalities. We have moved on to the early decades of the 20th Century, and are looking at how changes in society affected people's increased leisure time

Information on a chosen topic is usually presented to the Group by one or more of us and then discussed by everyone in a relaxed way, more like a seminar than a tutorial.

If you would like more information please contact me. My details are on the current Membership Card.
