The University of the Third Age is an independent, national organisation with groups spread throughout the country and indeed the world. It aims to provide opportunities for those who are no longer in full time gainful employment to share skills, knowledge and hobbies with other like minded people.

Often people are put off by the title "University" expecting this to mean formal learning, tests and diplomas. Not so, the word "University" is used in its original sense of a body of people who come together to share knowledge. We have at present twenty three Interest Groups and many of them are by no means academic.

Bradgate U3A was established in September 2008 in Anstey to serve the surrounding villages of Newtown Linford, Cropston, Thurcaston, Rothley, Glenfield and Groby.

We have a monthly meeting on the 1st Wednesday of every month which meets in the Jubilee Hall, Stadon Road, Anstey at 2.30pm. At this meeting we have invited speakers who give talks on a wide variety of subjects. We do welcome visitors but on the third visit you will be expected to become a fully paid up member of Bradgate U3A.
