Middlesbrough

Social & Local History

Group Leader: Geoff Walker

Day & Time: 1st & 3rd Tuesday, 10.00am - 12.00 noon.

Venue: St. Margaret's Church Hall, Brookfield,

About the Group:
By local we actually refer to the region either side of the Tees, namely N. Yorkshire & S. Durham.

We choose a theme each term. Individual members then pick topics within the theme and give short talks on their topics. Time is given to discussion of the topics. We like to keep it informal and no one is compelled to give a talk but members are encouraged to take part in discussions around the talks.

We periodically arrange trips to places of local interest.

Our theme for spring 2020 is prominent local families - families who have made a significant contribution to the development of the Teesside area.

We have a few vacancies and if anyone is interested in joining the group please contact the group leader via the "send a message" link at the top of the page.
