Several interesting visits take place The pictures of the Braehead Dobbies visit Every one was delighted with this visit - Dobbies really did us proud we were the only local U3A there at this event but as there was 17 of us we kept them busy.
We all met at the appointed time & were taken to an area where seats etc were all ready for us then an extremely pleasant knowledgeable young man talked & demonstrated about planting pots and hanging baskets for an hour I am sure we all learned something - He along with some help !! potted up about seven pots -then we discovered we were able to have a raffle for them to take them home so seven people were very lucky.
We then were shown to a secluded area where an extremely attractive table was laid for lunch where we were served with a very nice lunch of two courses with several choices by an extremely attentive waiter so for £6-00 we could not have asked for more.
After the meal we then had a question and answer session & we drew lots for the planted pots - we spent a little time going round the shop which is their latest design for all the future Dobbies & well worth a visit. Before we all set off home feeling very contented after a really enjoyable day.
Hoping to see you again as many as can make it at the next meeting at Bearsden Dobbies for our coffee at 10-30am to arrange some future excursions.
We have several visits to House/Castles and Gardens by coach, leaving from the Lenzie Golf Club entrance.
