St Austell

Petanque/Boules

GROUP CONVENOR - Pippa Boardman

Petanque is essentially a form of Boule, played by the French and Spanish in their town squares.

Teams of 2/3 or 4 players. Each match lasts about 40 minutes. It is very social and has a competitive element. You don't need to be fit, there is a bit of bending to pick up the Boules, but that is all.

You need to join the Tregony Sport and Social club. £10 for regular members and £5 for Seniors per year.

There is a bar and we have sandwiches or hot food after each meeting.

Directions from St Austell:- on B3287 enter Tregony. R turn to St Cuby's Church, signed "Playing Fields" L into Back Lane and the Club is on the R about 100 yards on. Parking available.

This is an outdoor Interest Group and now by popular request is an all year round group playing on Saturdays at either 11am or 1.30pm with lunch at 1pm for everyone.

Please always contact the group convenor to ensure the session is going ahead.
