Except for Music of Stage and Screen, Jazz and Tonic So-Fa which hold meetings in big venues (and welcome new participants), most of these groups meet in members's homes and their size is therefore, limited. If you are interested in any of these groups, contact details for the coordinators are issued with the Newsletter, or you can send a message through the contact button on this page.
The Jazz group is for anyone who enjoys listening to jazz. It holds its meetings in the evening in the Cathedral Centre where there is plenty of room to welcome new members. Recorder Players and Guitar groups welcome new members at the start of their respective programmes.
Exploring Music Once a month, the group spends a relaxed couple of hours listening to a member taking a turn at presenting a music program of choice. The scope of music is any composed during the period from the 16th century through to the modern day that has or might become a “Classic” in its own right. There are a couple of vacancies in the group and new members would be welcome. Pam Carrott and Eileen Norton have taken over the coordination of this group.
Music and Literature~ is this year focussing on Italian Opera.
Recorded Music for All# (formerly Recorded Sound) usually meets monthly on the 1st Monday between 2pm and 4pm. Each Group Member takes it in turn to introduce a programme (normally 1 per year). Refreshments are normally provided afterwards.
